PHS Grad Konrad Schmidt To AAA Reno Aces

by PTownFan

Sweet!  Petaluma High’s, Konrad Schmidt got a callup to AAA to catch for the Reno Aces.  Nice reward for that  4-for-4 three RBI night he had earlier this week.  The team’s other catcher, Luke Carlin, is a consistent hitter, batting .309 so at bats may be scarce, but Konrad is scheduled to start Monday night. It will be a brief homecoming for Schmidt who played for the University of Nevada Reno. … Read More »

TOMMY EVERIDGE (1B, Oakland Athletics, MLB – Sonoma HS): Finally got to chat with Tommy in an A’s uniform on an absolutely perfect day for baseball at the Oakland Coliseum.  Or whatever they’re calling it these days.  Everidge hit some balls hard that day, but has hit a rough patch the last few weeks with his average slipping to .224.  He made a few adjustments and crushed his second Major League … Read More »

707’s Bruntlett sticks with it… and makes history

by PTownFan

Santa Rosa’s Eric Bruntlett is the Phillies’ utility infielder.  He’s been flying under the radar this season, batting just .128 going into yesterday’s game against the Mets.  Man, did he ever pop out of stealth mode, notching only the second unassisted triple play to end a game in MLB history.  Immediately after two botched defensive plays in the 9th.  That is what I call stickin’ with it. Bruntlett has had only a handful … Read More »

It’s Tommy Time: Everidge Goes Yard

by PTownFan

Tommy put a Joakim Soria fastball on the Party Porch in right center field in Kansas City yesterday for his first MLB home run.  Soria, with an ERA of 2.42 has only given up 3 four baggers all season.  Everidge’s lead-off first pitch dinger sparked a three run rally in the 9th to prop up a lopsided  score.  The A’s lost 12-6 but Tommy got the monkey, and teammate Cliff … Read More »

The dog days of summer have been full of opportunity for PTown’s Pros. And pretty cool for PTown baseball fans.  This weekend you can watch Tommy Everidge play on one Bay Area channel and Jonny Gomes on another.  Or take in a Giants game at AT&T Park and hope Jonny splashes an opposite field home fun in front of the hometown crowd.  Here’s how the boys of summer are doing… TOMMY … Read More »
